Welcome to the Community Larder

We are an independent food bank, run by a small group of local volunteers, based in Horncastle Community Centre and serving the local community and surrounding villages.

Our services are often required because of delays in benefit payments, or crisis situations. There can be many reasons why someone suddenly finds themselves unable to provide food for themselves and their family and we are here to ensure that nobody need go hungry. We take referrals from various community support agencies and then distribute emergency three day food parcels to those in need providing a stop-gap a service whilst more permanent solutions are sought.

We collect non-perishable food that is donated by the local community at various drop-off points around the area and take it to The Community Larder ready for distribution.  We are very proud that as a community we are supporting one another in this way.

Sadly we are not able to deliver, so it is important that you arrange transport or extra hands to help carry the food as tinned foods are heavy!
